OUR STORY
The Wood Brothers grew up beekeeping with their father, Colin Wood, and took over formally in 2012. Starting from 1200 hives in 1988 the business has now grown to 5000 hives. Tim and Peter Wood personally manage the day to day field work with the support of a team of dedicated beekeepers.
Everyone at Lindis Honey are proud of the honey they produce and feel deeply connected to the region they work in.
Lindis Honey is based in Cromwell, Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. This region is famous for its rugged landscape and natural beauty.
The honey that is produced in Central Otago has a distinctive quality that is celebrated and loved by the people who purchase it.
HONEY PRODUCTION
Honey production begins in November when the Thyme is in full flower across Central Otago.
Our main varieties from the Central Otago region are Thyme, Clover and Viper’s bugloss and our Kamahi honey is harvested from the West Coast.
Comb honey production is also available by prior arrangements.
Lindis Honey is available for purchase in bulk within NZ, or export. Retail sized orders are available for purchase under the Forage & Gold brand.
POLLINATION
The team at Lindis Honey are proud to be able to offer pollination services to suit a wide range of crops from small lifestyle blocks to large commercial operations.
With years of experience in pollination and an energetic team we can move large numbers of beehives in a timely fashion onto your orchard or crop for great results.
We understand that timing is crucial when pollinating crops and thanks to our palletised hive system (4 beehives per pallet) and fleet of modern hiab trucks we can ensure your beehives will be supplied on time and removed on time.
